ROOTS (RACINES)
Every idea originates somewhere: in a place, a heritage, or a quiet, intimate state of mind.
Deniz Akkus moves away from the visible world to explore the origins of emotion through solitary, mysterious figures enveloped in shadow.
Askin Asan is a floral artist whose paintings celebrate the beauty of flowers through rich textures, bold colors, and expressive, almost sculptural floral compositions.
Cigdem Okten draws inspiration from cultural memory, portraying traditional figures amidst rolling, sunlit landscapes.
Sibel Y. Esen grounds her subjects in observation, placing her figures against open windows, night skies, and distant city skylines.
Adoniz brings art into everyday life by transforming colorful, naïve-style animal paintings into expressive textile creations.
These five artistic approaches are distinct, each drawing inspiration from a different source. Brought together in this space, they create unexpected connections: the organic curve of a petal echoes the fold of a traditional garment, a figure gazing toward the horizon meets the silent depth of a silhouette, while vibrant animal imagery adds a touch of playfulness and energy.
Roots brings together Deniz Akkus, Askin Asan, Cigdem Okten, Sibel Y. Esen, and Adoniz in one space. Pick up a glass, slow down, and discover where each artistic journey begins.
The artists will donate 20% of their sales to the Fondation Santiacien.
The Fondation Santiacien is a non-profit foundation based in Geneva, dedicated to supporting children with disabilities, particularly children with paralysis. It provides financial and material assistance, offers psychosocial support to their families, and supports scientific research to improve children’s quality of life. Through this exhibition, we are proud to contribute to this meaningful mission. Every purchase helps make a difference. ❤️
